With love for all our neighbors in northern Virginia and beyond, we seek to live God's love through programs of service. Explore the menu on the left for more information on various outreach programs.
At Redeemer there is a program that needs your talents and energy and that will recognize and reward your service. Along with the programs listed to the left, Redeemer is heavily involved in many outreach activites.
Habitat for Humanity is planning a new renovation apartment project in Arlington for 2010. They will need many volunteers 16 years and older to do all kinds of work. Many church members worked on the condo project in Fairfax and it has now been completed and families will move in soon. More information will come soon. Contact Marilyn White for details.
The SHARE furniture program needs volunteers to help families in need in Northern Virginia. One major SHARE activity is the furniture program which collects used furniture in good condition from the greater McLean area and delivers it to needy families in Northern Virginia. Our two trucks go out every Saturday with volunteer drivers and helpers making over a dozen pick-ups and deliveries. Our typical run starts at 8:30am and ends by 2:00pm. Adults as well as high school age youth are welcome, and a student volunteer can get dropped off and picked up without needing to be accompanied during the run. The work is physical, so we need persons who are able and willing to lift one end of a couch and take it up or down a flight of stairs. If you speak any Spanish that is a strong plus! If you would like to volunteer, call Redeemer member Gene Durman at 703-356-4929.
There has been a very high and increasing need at the N Street Dental Clinic to treat women in need of full and partial dentures. This has caused a shortage of the funds needed to cover the laboratory fees. All necessary dental work is done pro bono. Please consider making a contribution to Redeemer Lutheran Church clearly marked for the Dental Clinic. It would help us so much in carrying on this vital ministry of Redeemer to formerly homeless women.
Help serve our community by making an online contribution to the ministry of your choice.
